I managed to get XP installed, and precisely one Windows program as well. I have two other programs that just don't install.

One of them is Microsoft Money. I've tried installing it from the real CD/DVD drive, and it either aborts, or just doesn't recognize the disk.

I've tried creating an .iso file of the disk, and running setup.exe from Windows, and it opens a DOS screen for a moment then goes back to the desktop and does nothing.

So then I tried downloading the program onto the Mac desktop, but I can't figure out how to get it into one of the virtual drives that Windows will recognize, to open it from there.

So now I'm stumped. Any thoughts, anyone?

There is a fair chance that you will need to re-install windblows. Any program that doesn't require 3D graphics should just install.

Use shared folders to copy files between OS X and windwoes.

OK - there's a shared folder in Windows - is that the one you mean? If so, what's the relationship between that and the Mac OS? There only seems to be one folder in my Parallels library (WinXP, with two items in it, winxp.hdd and winxp.pvs). Is there a way to get a file from my Mac desktop into the Windows shared folder?

Have you installed the Parallels Tools? I think you need to to that before you can use the shared folder.
