I am running Parallels build 1848 on a MacBook Pro. I have SuSE 10.0, 10.1, and XP VM's. I am also running an external Logitech MX1000 mouse and a Logitech MX3000 wireless keyboard (both USB). On the Mac side I am running the latest Logitech Intel Mouse driver. When I first started using this build of Parallels, I could toggle to full screen with alt-enter, and release the cursor with the ctrl-alt keys. For some reason this has stopped working and it appears to me that the alt key has stopped working. (ctrl-shift still works as a right click) I was able to program the shift key to replace alt in Parallels preferences and this has solved the problem, but I was wondering if anyone else had seen this and fixed it or could offer an explanation? The only thing I recall doing was to uninstall USB Overdrive and install the Logitech driver mentioned earlier. My second question has to do with the MX1000 mouse. Is there any way to make the side buttons work as forward and back in Firefox in a Linux VM? SuSE specifically?

Edit: Well, it was definately the Logitech Mouse driver that was the culprit. I uninstalled it and keyboard shortcuts are back to normal in Parallels. I am still looking for help or ideas on the MX1000 side buttons in a Linux VM. Thanks!

    Bump

Is there any way to make the multibutton mouse (.e.g MX1000) side buttons work as forward and back in Firefox in a Linux VM? SuSE specifically?

Have you tried to upgrading the build to 1922?

I am on the 1896.2 build. Is there somethng in 1922 that fixes this issue?

It might. You never know until you try the new build.

I loaded up the latest build and it is still not working. The interesting thing is that I can make various changes to the /etc/X11/xorg.conf mouse section and it seems to have absolutely no effect. It's as if the Parallels mouse drivers take over and ignore xorg.conf in Linux. Can anyone else confirm this? If I input settings there that would normally enable side buttons on an MX1000 in a conventional SuSE install, they do not work in Parallels.

Parallels is emulating the mouse to the guest VM. Any mouse that mac can see (even a tablet) will look like a ps2 3 button mouse with scroll wheel. (Check your dmsg logs, they should be able to verify this to you)

The only way to use anything more would be to connect the mouse to the VM directly using their USB connection passthrough. This will not work until they get real passthrough support working.
