I enabled shared folders and created shared folders SF1 and SF2 in the configuration editor when VM was not running. I can see them in the VM hard drive in a "Parallels Shared Folders" shortcut on the VM desktop when it is running but cannot find these folders when in the Mac OS. I searched the Mac HD for SF1 and SF2 but it does not see them What could I be doing wrong? Parallels tools shows shared folders enabled and a shared folder on the desktop
This should have been set up on the Mac and therefore you would have browsed to the folders. In Parallels, before launching a VM, go to the Propery page view, select Shared Folders and this will tell you where they are. If the don't exist then delete and recreate them.
