I have the lastest version of parallels running on the Mac Pro. Its running Windows XP Pro nicely (although I have not stressed it). Each new beta release has its own problems apparently. The current 1908 build lifted the memory issue as promised. I did the sleep trick and it worked after several crashes. I managed to get a Suse Linux 9.2 (tried 10.2 but ran into problems with the install) to run under 1896.2. Then I installed 1908 and parallels crashed complaining about the terminal monitor. But finally after moving the VM memory below 1028 it worked (this seemed to do it for me). I am seeing disk arbitrator failures (not responding) in the logs and this may be why I cannot load suse 10.0 Anyway my biggest pain now is the fact that I can't get Suse 9.2 to use a large screen size. I am running on a 23 inch apple but it only gets to 800x600 resolution. Does anybody know the magic to get to a larger resolution running linux or is this just a parallels limitation? I played with the Suse configuration but the console never gets any bigger.
i dont knwo Suse, but in redhat, its because the default monitor in the X server is set to 800x600. In the resolution settings, specify the monitor type closest macthing your desired resolution.
