SOLVED: 'Unable to allocate virtual memory'

Hello all, I launched the Vista RC1 installation from an ISO image and it got about 35% of the way through uncompressing the files, and then I got the following error:

'Parallels Desktop encountered a problem when trying to allocate physical memory. Please restart the application.'

Now, when I start the VM and attempt to go back into the installation, I get the same error. Any ideas?

    sydbarrett74,

What is your Mac and how much RAM you have? And what Parallels build you are using?

BTW: I also fond of Barrett and early Pink Floyd :)

I have a Mac Pro with 4GB of RAM (allocated 1500MB to the VM) and I'm using the 1898 build. Oh, and I also already upgraded my firmware with the patch from Apple's site and did that nvram thing that someone suggested doing from the command prompt.

    Andrew,
*This* particular problem is fixed. I tried the reFIT solution to enable VT-x, and although it was unsuccessful in permanently enabling VT-x, it did get it so that my virtual memory problems went away. However, its means of solving this were to enable only the first 2GB of memory, which as you've said in other posts you guys are working on fixing. So I'll wait until a new build comes out with full support for the 64-bit Mac Pro's. ;)

P.S. Good to see another Barrett fan out there!
