ive just had a new imac and followed the instructions to install parallels, i save all the nfo that it is asking me to and then it wants me in the instructions to "choose DEFALTS CD/DVD-ROM" from the "DEVICE" menu.

im not given that option and when i perss power on the screen grays out freezes and askes me to reboot.

can anyone please help me with this ive been trying all day and ill keep checking my system tonight.

    1. Default CD-ROM step - is a bug in User Guide - just skip this step.
    2. Current version of Parallels Desktop doesn't support Mac Pro and iMac Core 2 Duo. Please wait few days until we announce hotfix for Mac Pro issue.

Will this new fix also address iMac C2Ds?

Employees of the Apple store happilly sold me a copy along with my new iMac (what kind of Mac doesn't have a Core 2 Duo now?) apparently unaward that it doesn't work. I see this thread is a couple weeks old. Is there any news?

The fact that the thread is a couple of weeks old just means that the first message is that old. Check the dates of the posts and you'll see that some of them are much more recent. And I suggest, if Parallels doesn't work for you, that you might want to try the new build:

Unfortunately, based on the post from this morning, the recent build won't help me. But thanks for the link. I will keep checking back.

    dobbs,

There are several Macs without core "2" chips... but, I have an iMac with the 2.0Ghz Core 2 Duo chips, and Parallels 1884 and the latest 1892.6 work fine with it. If you will post some more details, I'll try to help you get going, but I would suggest you first download 1892.6 from the Parallels web site. We can go from there.
