I can run XP happily and access the internet. Using iTunes 7 I can access the music store - generally reliable but I have noticed the connection goes dead occasionally. I then need to suspend the virtual machine or wait a long time for it to recover. The symptoms being that you can see data transmitting from XP (in the task bar icon) but nothing gets received at all. When iTunes kills the Internet connection it also dies for all applications running on the virtual machine. When I use myFairTunes - a very good utility to remove the pesky DRM from itunes store music (so I can play it on all my devices) - myFairTunes starts up iTunes automatically - but in the process every time it causes the internet connection to fail as above. By time the internet starts working again myFairTunes has given up with an error that it can't resolve www.apple.com. I've got this with the RC release as well as 1848 and I have noticed that there is this problem where sometimes you just lose internet connectivity (while you still see the taskbar icon flashing its TX but no Rx). Separate from this specific example - is it a known issue to lose connectivity like this? Julian
Answer my own question... It seems that by switching to Host Only Networking (and sharing the connection in Mac System Preferences) that the connection is far more reliable and can't be hung up by application as mentioned above. Its a bit of a pest to remember to share the connection but otherwise seems mroe reliable generally - with 1848 and RC builds.
