I have RedHat running on a MacBook pro under Parallels build 1884, using a 4+ GB .hdd image file. Parallels reports the actual disk size as 642MB, but after compacting the file size is unchanged (indeed, the image file seems not to have been touched (judging from its mod time). If I compact via ImageTool, the image file is rewritten but the size is unchanged. Why do these steps not reduce the disk image to something near the reported actual disk size?
steveward, we have problem with displaying (counting) disk actual size. In next public RC it will be fixed.
