I installed the new build rc thils morning. As I start parallels, get to my xp vm, and press the green triangle "power up" button, my macbook pro immediately shuts down, and restarts. I am not able to boot up windows at all. Anyone else have this problem? thanks!
I have this same problem with an imac and the new parallels beta, but I have not a clue of how it could be solved. Hope someone can help.
I had the same problem when I upgraded yesterday in my macMini. I resolved the problem by first making a copy of my virtual drive, moved the previous version Parallels app from the Applications folder to the trash, emptied the trash, and then installed 1884. (I was worried about having to rebuild the virtual drive, so I made a copy and put it in another folder just in case. Turned out, the virtual drive did not disappear....whew ) I don't know if that was the right way to resolve the problem, but it worked for me and only took a few minutes. JB
This may not be related to Parallels. There is a known problem with some MacBooks shutting down, something to do with the heat sink and logic board. Maybe running Parallels just pushes your machine over the edge. Contact Apple for a fix I say!
all good now thanks for the imput.... I trashed the application(older version), and re-installed the new build rc 1884. I found out the problem I had was starting the program with the parallels icon still on my desktop and dock. It still shut down, and restarted. I trashed both icons, and started the application from the icon in the new applications file. It works fine.., moved that icon to dock.., still works fine!! thanks!
