First, let me say that I love Parallels Desktop for the Mac. What a great product. Without it, I would still be a windows PC user. I'm using the Mac for almost everything but still use XP for Quicken and TC2000. I'll probably use XP for tax software too. The Mac just isn't there yet.

I need to be able to print to a shared Mac Printer.

I have an MP500 Canon connected via USB to my iMac Intel 20". I can print/scan fine from the iMac and from a MacBook.

I want to print from XP. I have XP loaded via Parallels. It's on the same machine, the iMac. I want to print to a share beause the USB ports don't seem to work very well under Parallels. If I could get that to work, I'd be okay with that. I just thought that maybe the network solution might be better given the situation.

I used the info provided here: http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/windowsxp.html,

Actually a link on that page that takes me here:
    http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/3012.html

I followed those instructions and they seemed to work in that I can see the printer. Yet, when I try to print a test page, nothing goes to the queue.

    Any ideas?

The Parallels build if marked June 12 2006. I have 10.4.7 of OS X.

A little searching would have helped with this question. Bonjour for Windows is the answer to your problems.

Parallels ought to look at setting up a FAQ with Mac questions like this one. The current FAQ looks like it's pretty much all Linux/Win version questions.

I have a Mac mini with an HP 1300 LaserJet printer connected via USB. That works fine with the Mac but I couldn't print from WinXP, much as you. I loaded Windows drivers for the printer and then enabled print sharing, both in Windows and with the Mac. Result, I can now print from either OS. Works great. :)
