please help- I am working with a mac in a windows only hospital . I have a friend in IMT who loaded VPN and other software for me in windows on my mac (parallels of course). Networking works fine until I connect the vpn. VPN does seem to connect properly- it conects and the packets sent/received increases with time. In the tool bar I then see 2 network icons- one is the parallels one, the other is vpn. The problem I am having is that after I connect, no windows internet traffic seems to get out- the paralles icon continues to I "blink" as if all the traffic is trying to go here instead of out the new VPN port (whose icon does not blink). I did a search here on VPN, but could not find anything that seemed similar to my problem. Any ideas out there? (I did find a windows preference pane for which network port should be tried first and set it to the VPN port with no joy.) thanks in advance (and sorry if this is off topic, but no idea where else to turn) My setup: macbook pro, 2G memory, airport network Parallels with bridged ethernet to default (also tried bridge to airport). Windows XP sp2 thanks again.
Hello, What you want to do is go into your connection profile, pick the connection you want, and then modify it. You will see two transport options in there if you look around (sorry , I don't have it in front of me right now to give more specific directions). Change the transport from TCP to UDP. If all goes well and your sever administrators are not totally crazy, then you will be able to connect no problem. If you have questions drop me a line.
