    hi,

i had a macbook crash which somehow trashed my HDD image. i have important data on the image, so i somehow have to restore it. (as soon as any program tries to access the HDD image, the VM stops. i can not boot into it and even if i try to boot from CD and access the HDD image, on the first access it stops the VM)
i have created a new VM installed windows on it, but as soon as i add the HDD into the new VM the VM stops.
can anyone direct me how to check the integrity of the HDD image and/or repair it? also it would be nice to know if Parallels does logging somewhere to check what causes the crash, i think it is not a normal behaviour to stop the VM when accessing a trashed HDD image (it shall give a read error back to the OS or so)

    kind regards,

i have just compacted the HDD image, and compacting runs without an error, however, the VM still can not mount it.
