Hello, i already checked the network-sticky thread but it was not really the help i need at the moment. Basic informations: -- - MacBookPro, MacOSX 10.4.7 - Parallels Full Version installed MacOS specific: -- - 2 Locations -- home, using airport -- work , using static ip, build in ethernet (192.168.200.65) Parallels Settings: -- - Bridged Network (tried both selections: Default Adapter AND en0 Ethernet Adapter) My target is to use that bridged network in the virtual Windows XP Prof runnnig in Parallels VM. If i configure the network device in windows with the IP mentioned above i get an ERROR, or better two: -- a) from windows: network conflict, IP is already in use in the network b) from parallels: ip is used my MAC-Adr XP, which is the Mac adress set in the Advanced Tab of the Parallels Network Menu Actually i dont know how to solve that problem, as i want to use that specific IP i already mentioned. If i select Location HOME in MAC OS, the network in Windows is working, as the IP is not already in use. but how can i solve that basic problem ? any ideas ? best regards fidel
Bridged networking requires two IP addresses, one for the host and one for the guest. You can't use a single static IP for both. If you can't install a router between your machine and your work network connection, you can probably use host only networking, and share your network connection from the host. This way, the host gets to use the static IP and the NAT built into OSX along with the Parallels DHCP server allows the guest(s) network access.
