I used Parallels tools to increase the size of the virtual disk from 4GB to 4.5 and now Windows gives me a read error in the bios boot. I think I am toast. Of course I didn't backup. Any hope? I tried to reduce it back to 4GB but the tool will not let me do that.... Thanks Jacques
More info 2 weirds things - although the drive is 4.5GB // indicates that it's size is 408MB - I can mount this drive in my new VM (I reinstalled XP from scratch) but of course my user ID doesn't allow me to read my own user data in the old partition... so it is no use
Did you simply increase the size or did you follow the directions located here: http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=1481&highlight=resize
I followed the instruction in that thread. I have since created a new install from windows and recovered most of my files my adding the old partition as an extra HD, but it still bogs me that there is little support for Parallels. They used to be much more responsive than today. Maybe they need some well deserved vacations after workig so hard to give us a fantastic product. Actually Apple should pay for a 6 months world tour for them. I am pretty sure that product had a direct impact on the MacBook sales, hence on the stock price....
