Hi there, I'm having a problem with getting Windows XP, Service Pack 2, to recognize a hi-speed USB peripheral within Parallels. Specifically, I'm trying to get a Dazzle DVD Recorder USB device to work, and Windows keeps telling me that it is running at a reduced speed becuase I don't have a hi-speed USB host controller. The Dazzle DVD Recorder can't run in USB 1.1 and hence it's not working. But the bigger issue I have is shouldn't Parallels translate the USB ports on a MacBook as USB 2.0 hi-speed? Has anyone else had any trouble running enhanced (USB 2.0) USB devices on a MacBook with Parallels? Any help is much appreciated. Kevin
1) This portion of the forum is for posting solutions, not questions. 2) The USB issue has been discussed extensively in several threads in the Mac technical forum where you will find it if you look. 3) The current release supports 1.1 at higher speed than the 1.1 spec but doesn't support 2.0. they say they are working on it. CD writers currently don't work.
Usb 1.1 / 2.0 Since most USB 2.0 Devices are compatible with USB 1.1, I hope they get 1.1 working before 2.0. Maybe we will be luck and get both.
