If I don't have an active network connection on OSX, Ubuntu will automatically connect to my neighbor's open wireless router. I don't want that to happen.

I've tried in parallels settings, to set the network adapter to be disabled, but then once Ubuntu is booted, I can't enable the connection at all.

I've tried to alter system/preferences/network configuration in Ubuntu to not connect automatically, but after rebooting, the setting magically returns to connect automatically.

    Any ideas?
