I have 2 WinXP and 1 Vista VM on my MacPro. There is a problem with Smartselect in certain situations:
- I create an .exe file by compiling some source code under XP1.
- I left click the file on OSX and select "Open with". Now I see 3 entries for Windows Explorer and I have no chance to tell wich one is for this particular machine.
There is the same problem when I e.g. download a file which I want to launch with a Windows application (WinZip, RAR etc.)
Choosing the wrong entry launches the corresponding VM immediately ...
I would appreciate one of the following solutions:
- The Smartselect entry could be extended with the VM name, e.g. "Windows Explorer (WinXP1) instead of "Windows Explorer"
- There could be some config switch which prevents a VM from publishing its apps to Smartselect.
- There could be some config switch which clears the VMs "Windows Applications" folder on Sleep and Shutdown. This will only leave the current VMs apps in Smartselect.
