Printing over XP Network

I am considering buying parallels with XP as host OS so that I can print over a XP network. I cannot print via a CUPS driver as none exist for the printer we use at work, therefore I think parallels is my only choice. My question is , is network printing to an XP network bug free, and fully functional? I dont want to go to all the effort of setting it up and finding that it wont work.
