    Hi,

However, the CD cannot be recognized and when trying to play games in Parallels there is no display. I input cd game but the message comes up there is no cd however some introduction from the cd plays and then I get the menu but when trying to select a specific item on the menu and go the the game it does not work. Also, have downloaded a windows demo from the internet that does not work. there is no video but I hear sound in the background. When I go to the control panel it shows the cd and video is working fine.

    1. CD games,
Parallels Desktop - Devices menu -CD-DVD, - select your device
    2. Video
    1. Minimize hardware acceleration level in display properties.

Right click on Desktop -> Personalize -> Display Settings -> Advanced
Settings -> Trobleshoot tab. Put hardware acceleration level to zero.

    2. Set Color in Display Settings to 24 bit making hardware acceleration
    set to maximum.

    parrallels not acting correctly

    John,
thank you for your speedy response. I msut apologize for my slow response. I tried your solutions, both of them but it did not seem to work. I am wondering if reinstalling the software will solve the problem. Since it has not workded correctly since purchasing it, I normally do not use it. However, now I need to use windows more often so any help would be great.
    Thanks
    aqueelah

i do not think it is. It is a game from microsoft that someone let me borrow because they do not use it anymore.

the game is microsoft age of empires. He also let me use a game called the zoo keeper or something similiar. But I do not believe it is the game because I also downloaded a game from the Internet for windows called build a lot. and they game displayed similiar problems as the other ones and I do not need the cd for them. it is very confusing for me. But i have gotten online with parallels and windows however, someone hacked into my laptop at the time. So I had to close all the sharing and probably other stuff.
thanks in advance for your assistance.

    hi john,
have not heard from you. What i will try is to install the software again but what I am afraid of is what if the same things happen that is happening now.

    Hi aqueelahsteward,
for Age of Empires - it does not work under Parallels Desktop 3.0; however, it can run in version 4.0. As for Zoo Keeper - it requires installation of Adobe Shockwave Player.
