I have been trying to get a new slide scanner to work. I have successfully (I think) loaded the software from the CD that came with the scanner, within the Win XP virtual machine. But as part of the installation process, it asks me to plug in the scanner into the USB port, and a dialog box is supposed to come up saying "mew hardware found. Run the New Hardware wizard", and it doesn't. I have tried adding a new USB device in the Virtual Machine Configure menu, and it still won't. The USB port works OK in its Mac configuration, and I have successfully installed the device on my wife's Win XP computer. But I wan't to install it on my Mac with Parallels! Help, please. Please make sure you connect scanner to USB directly, not through HUB, keyboard USB,or Disply USB ports, If there are still problems, please create ticket in support http://www.parallels.com/support/desktop/request/
