I am running parallels 4.0.3540 on OS 10.5. I need for my windows side to consistently resolve the host name of my mac side. I have software that talks to the mac side from the windows side. I keep having to tweak my hosts file on the Windows side as it either doesn't resolve my OS X host name or resolves it incorrectly. I am using Bridged Networking.

    Any ideas?

It is because of Mac OS receiving IP by DHCp, why not to assign static IP top Mac?

    Everywhere I go I use DCHP so a static IP won't work. Sometimes it's 192.xxx, sometimes it's 10.xxx

So, it is the answer, you need to change it every time, when you change network
