I purchased a new retail box of Parallels last week [April 07 version] and installed Windows XP Pro on my 2.2 GHz Intel Macbook w/ 2 GB of RAM and OS X Leopard. I did an express install then updated VM RAM to 1 GB. I'm fairly happy with the XP performance on my mac except that it's completely frozen whenever I resume from pause or sleep mode. Parallels itself is not frozen, just the VM, so I usually reboot XP and it runs fine again until pause/sleep. Last night I upgraded from April 07 to June 07 version - build 3214 - but the freeze still occurs. I checked for updates again but it says I've got the most recent version installed.

Can anyone tell me if this problem is common to Parallels running XP Pro and if there's any solution? Thanks!

I have this problem with 4.0.3540. Pause, then resume, then nothing in the VM (Windows XP SP3). Any other advice than install 3224?

Got it. I had initially set up this VM in Desktop 3, using only 1 CPU. After upgrading to Deksotp 4, I set the VM to 2 CPUs. Once I set it back to 1 CPU, pause/resume works fine.
