access Configuration, Hardware

Using V4. How do you access the Virtual Machine, Configuration, Hardware, CPU, Memory and Video Memory settings? With VM running, these are grayed out and not accessible, and I don't see how to access them with the VM not running.

You need to stop your virtual machine firstly. It won't allow you to change hardware parameters while it's running to avoid crash -- just like as on real PC

 

I am not sure what you mean by the word stop.

If you are running the VM, and choose Virtual Machine, Stop you can not longer access the option Virtual Machine, Configure.

If you mean from the start button, to shut down windows, I don't see how you can access the Virtual Machine, Configure option.

Please clarify.

Do you mean that your virtual machine window closes if you click Stop button? Then click Configure while it's running -> Startup and Shutdown -> uncheck 'Close window on shutdown ' box
