I need help with the vista install into parallels -- I have a Basic Mac laptop with bootcamp installed (Vista). I'm not a computer geek and am having problems figuring out how to get parallels to work (i.e. installing an operating system). I've tried using the Vista CD, but it won't work at all -- the DVD eventually kicks back out and the computer doesn't recognize it. I have no idea how to use the bootcamp install within parallels. Help please!
Run Parallels Desktop, click File -> New -> Custom -> Use Boot Camp partition -> on the last window click Done
I'm having the same problem. I have Vista already installed and want to access it from Parallels. I have Parallels 4.0 and I don't get that menu (File-New-Custom etc) I get File-New Virtual Machine-then the option of using either a real CD or an image. If I point to the Vista partition it wont open
That Doesn't Work Either When I click Select Real CD there isn't an option for anything other than my CD/DVD Drive.
I've tried V4.0 from the box & ParallelsDesktop-nova_development-en_US-4.0.3844.408822.dmg (which has different install menus). Neither recognize Vista Business (SP2) I have installed on my Bootcamp partition.
