    Hi,
Have recently bought a MacBook Pro and Parallels 3.0 and am now running Windows XP Pro in Parallels. Everything works fine. I am completely new to the Mac having used windows pcs for most of my life.
I understand that if I copy the Documents/Parallels folder with its contents to an external hard drive it will backup Windows and, I assume, all the windows programs. Am I correct in this?
If I am I assume if I need to restore this after, for example, a hard drive failure, I just have to copy this folder back and Windows XP and all the programs will be restored to the machine.
Also, I have so far resisted upgrading Parallels to version 4.0 because there seems to be so much uncertainty as to its reliability. If I do install 4.0 and I have problems, will restoring the above folder restore the system to its previous state with no problems?
    Regards
    Brian

    Hi John,
    Thanks for your advice.
So backing up the Parallels folder backs up all the windows files AND the windows programs, unlike on a windows pc where you have to first reinstall windows and then the programs?
    Regards
    Brian
