PD4.0 3540 XP no sound - missing from VM Configuration

    Upgraded from PD3.0 to PD4.0 and now now sound, Windows XP (SP3), parallels VM Configuration/Hardware doesn't even have a Sound section. No sound devices in XP Device Manager. Reinstalled Parallels tools, no change.

    Submitted this as issue on 11/29, no response whatsoever....

    Stop Virtual machine , make sure in Configure you have Sound device and it is enabled

    Stopped VM, restarted Parallels, Sound is not even visible under Hardware.

    Yes, this may be the case, initiate scan for hardware changes and provide Windows XP disk, note it should be OEM disk

    Tried that from XP Device Manager - didn't find anything/

    Tried Scan for hardware changes from Device Manager, it didn't actually do anything, no change. Sound still missing from Virtual Machine configuration and no sound

    I suppose you need to create ticket we can investigate it more closely

    Did that on 11/29, no reply. Reported again as #19591.

    Submitted same info to Parallels support as case #635114, got reply indicating that they didn't even read the request...

    so Sound just needed to be added to VM Configuration (+ button). Somehow it was never enabled in migration from PD3.0.
