PD4.0 3540 XP prl_cc.exe hangs XP guest when large amount of data copied to clipboard. I can restore access to the XP by sending Ctl Alt Del and killing it.
In PD 3.0, when I copied large amounts of data the shared clipboard would just stop working, but not hang my guest OS.

    Is this a know issue?

Yes, on real PC copying a big amount of data in clipboard, while antivirus or security software is running may hung the process, as prl_cc is handling clipboard, this may hung

uh, okay, glad you know about i. is there a planned fix? maybe this should be in the KB.

how about a workaround - kill and restart it every minute, something like :)START; SLEEP 60; TASKKILL /F /IM prl_cc.exe; START "prl_cc.exe" C:\Program Files\Parallels\Parallels Tools\prl_cc.exe GOTO START)?

I apologize, it is known issue on real PC, the problem is that security software is checking buffer,
if you disable security software during this operation this will be eliminated,
Please note, it is not enough to disable real scan, it is necessary to disable antivirus kernel

hang with prl_cc.exe never happens on "real" PC, even with same McAfee suite, this is a Parallels problem, and the hang is new with PD4.0 (with PD3.09 clipboard would no longer wrk between Mac/Windows but it would not hang the VM).

Yes, because there is no prl_cc on real PC, other applications handling clipboard is haging

Can you clarify what you mean by "disabling anti-virus kernel"? I have no anti-virus software running on my XP virtual machine, in fact I have Microsoft Security Center service disabled entirely. Yet prl_cc.exe still hangs my entire system.

As others have pointed out, this didn't use to happen under v3.0. Nor had I ever had anything like this occur on "real PC". So the question remains - will this behavior be fixed in a future update to v4.0?

Antivirus kernel - I mean that if you have antivirus, and even you disable scan, you still see, that in Task Manager, there are still processes related to that antivirus,
