I recently upgraded my memory (Macbook) to 2 Gigs and the software still reccomends 132MB of memory allocation. If I go beyond that things really seem to be very slow. Any ideas? What is the typical RAM allocation for Macbook users?

    Thanks

There are two places to allocate memory: The program and the VM. It looks like the reccomended allocation is 100MB less than what you allocate to the program. I personally, have it set to 1000MB Parallels (900MB winXP VM). What it sounds like is you have the program set to a low memory allocation (go to preferences-->memory and bump that value way up), so increasing it should help your situation.

Wow, thanks for the help (and quick reply). Amazing what you can do if you set the darn thing up right. Works like a champ now.

Where is the Xp VM changed?
There is Resources/Memory but how do you change the VM?

    Thanks ... Ken
