    Hi all --
This is not a new problem, I've posted about it before here and didn't get any replies. I don't know whether it's a Parallels issue specifically or Windows, but one that has come up since using Host-Only networking. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using Host-Only networking and have no problem with 95% of the sites I visit using my WinXP guest. But I can't access secure socket sites at all: no gmail, no gotomeeting.com (one of the big reasons I use Parallels). Any URL starting with "https" fails to load in IE and Firefox. Does anyone have any workarounds for this?

    Thanks for any info.

    Dylan,

Is HTTPS working from Safari? If yes, I would check proxy settings for Firefox/IE in a VM and see if those match your Mac settings.
Just noticed you're using Host-Only w/ IS... Try disabling your MAC firewall. If it helps, add port 443 to allowed port list.

You're awesome -- thanks. I was just going to edit my post to say that I had narrowed the problem down to the OS X Firewall, and ask which port to clear. Thanks!
