hi i'd like to run ( to test at least ) parallels desktop on my PPC to use just 2 windows apps ( MixMaister and NokiaPhoneManager .. this is all i want from windows planet i'm not going to buy a new mac , so i would like to test and buy an old version ( is 2.1 version due to ? ) that can run on my mac with os X.4.10 where or why can i do it? thank you Marco
Dear Marco, Thank you for you interest in Parallels! Version 2.1 is the oldest and now you can't buy it of evaluate it. I can offer you to test our version 3.0 (the newest version of Parallels Desktop for Mac). You can make a trial download and use it for 15 days. It will run with your Mac OS X.4.10 Also our previous version 2.5 runs with your Mac. You can buy it now only in shop. Best regards, Helen (Parallels Inc.)
( for both version 3.0 and 2.5 system requirements are ( you say ) : Mac OS X.4 Intel .. my mac isn't Intel ) anyway thank you : i'm going to test trial version and i hope it will be ok thanks Marco
if only i could get a trial number .. i can't get an account because of no email have been received anyway i confirm everywhere official site and softwares site it's written "platform : Intel" i hope you're wrong i will let you know as soon i manage to run it cheers
i was right it doesn't function can anyone give me chance to download the old version 2.1 running on my mac PPC ( not intel ) ?? thanks Marco
Dear Marco, I have consulted with our Team. Parallels is only for Intel, even the oldest versions. Best regards, Helen.
You could install Qemu on your PowerBook and install Windows on it. It will be unbelievable slow, and I fear Nokia Phonemanager will not like it that slow (maybe timeout errors or what). Qemu is only a theoretical solution... but works well with a tiny Linux distro like damn small linux.
PowerMac version I'm running 10.4.11 and have been introduced to some multi projector edge blending PC software I will need to become familiar with in advance of working for a production company in a few weeks Help! I'm madly making eye candy for the event but have to deliver the content on spec. I need a PowerMac Parallel solution too! Kind regards, David Nixon
