Blank screen but able to see mouse and task manager

Hello All,

I have installed windows XP 2 months back and everything was working fine.

today i installed Win 2003 and again everythin was working as expected. Then i upgrade SP2 i win 2003 and restarted the server. After it starts, it prompts me for Admin uid and password. After i enter the credentials it did not bring up anything. THe screen is blank.

When i hit Ctrl+Del+alt it brings the Windows security screen and i still can open the Task manager.

On the other hand if I open Wind XP it works fine. it happened to the new Win 2003 SP2. help me out.

My friends say it may be related to Video issue????

 

When i try to start in a safe mode it works.. but in normal mode i just get the blank screen!!

 

If you have any custom drivers installed in VM (hardware drivers, disable it)
Or delete Display adapter from Device manager in safe mode

No, it will recreate it automatically after next VM restart

Before i delete the display adapter it shows Parallels dispaly adapter. i uninstalled and restart the system, now it is showing VG Adapter (something like this i dont remember)

but after i restart i still see the blank screen.

 

Ok, the next step is to delete Parallels Tools in the safe mode as described in
