Hi, I just installed my first Vista OS (my VMs are XP): can't get audio working. It doesn't accept any driver. I went on the web and downloaded a serie of AC'97 drivers (that the one used in XP) without any success... Any idea??? Thanks Configuration: Mac Pro 32Go RAM 1Tb HD VM: Vista Ultimate 2Go RAM 16 Video Device manager has a Multimedia Audio Controller and a Unknown Device that both have no driver and don't accept any inf file I tried.
Install Parallels Tools, and when you are getting warning about driver accept it, (or reinstall Parallels Tools)
Parallels tools Hi, I already tried that a few time. There are no sound driver in the tools for vista only OS2. Any other sugestion?? Thanks
What do you mean OS2, Parallels Tools includes driver for Sound device and installs them. Please provide me step by step in screenshots, what is going on when yo are installing Parallels Tools, (uninstalling it first), basically video will be more informative
No driver for sound Hi, What I mean is that if you look through the parallels tools setup disk, the drivers folder contain sound drivers only for OS2 so if you have Vista look for an .inf file there it can't find one. The installation of parallels tools isn't very interresting in terms of screen shoots: every thing go normally, no error message. Then when Vista reboot it asked for the multimedia device driver and can't find any. I tried to download several drivers for AC'97 on vista but none worked.
Actually the problem is that it should be installed during Vista install, Try to delete Sound device from VM Configuration Start -Stop VM and check situation I 've just checked it on Ultimate and it recognized device without problems.
Still No Audio I didn't know exactly what that meant, but what I did was I shut down my VM (Vista Ultimate) and then under the 'Virtual Machine' menu I went to 'Configure' and in the configuration I deleted the 'Sound' from the left hand menu. That still hasn't resolved the issue for me. I am trying to use the Zune software, but I'm only getting an error message (see attached picture for exact error message. Thanks.
