There is a problem with running Mind Manager 7.2 in a Parallels Windows XP virtual machine; when you open a file it crashes Mind Manager. I have now located the source of the problem and a workaround. The source of the problem is Parallels shared profile feature. If the files are accessed through shared profile (which maps Documents on the Mac to My Documents on Windows) the program crashes every time. If the files are accessed using shared folders (where a network drive is created for the folder) this works fine every time. It is worth noting the preview pane in the file open dialog shows the mind map correctly. The workaround is to create a shared folder network drive for the Mac files and only use this to access Mind Manager files. Shared Folders can still be used for everything else. Worth noting that the support people at both Mindjet and Parallels were completely useless!
