My Parallels Windows XP SP2 will probably not be able to run in the next few days due to lack of hard drive space. Here's my info: MB Pro with 2GB RAM 768 RAM set in Parallels 7.8 GB Windows partition (1 partition verified in disk management) I DO NOT WANT TO INCREASE MY HD SPACE, SO I DON'T NEED THE LINK TO THE KNOWLEDGE BASE ARTICLE ON HOW TO DO THAT. I ONLY WANT TO RECLAIM LOST SPACE. I use Parallels mainly for Quicken only. I do not download any programs, media, or other misc. stuff to Windows. I use Mac OSX for just about everything. Over the past few months, my Windows HD space has gradually decreased from over 2 GB to as low as 159 MB. I've run Parallels Compressor as well as Windows disk clean up but have only regained up to about 700 MB total. Here's the kicker: Parallels was running, but minimized overnight while the MB Pro was shut and sleeping -opening it up this morning and maximizing Parallels greeted me with the low disk space warning in Windows. I lost 500 MB overnight doing nothing! Rebooting Windows only recovered about 100 MB of space. 8 GB of space should be enough to run Quicken forever. This should not be happening. The only suspect I can think of is the constant Windows updates and hot fixes. The only other thing I can think of is some interaction with the VM. Also, Windows is always running low on virtual memory and increasing the size of the paging file, but I had it limited to a max of 768MB. I have just this morning changed it to "system managed" to see if it would help. Parallels email support has so far been disappointing as the original response pointed me to the aforementioned knowledge base article which was not what I was inquiring about nor what I needed. I only have 30 GB left on my MB Pro and do not want to give any more to Windows. Follow up response from me to support has not generated any help. Hopefully someone on this board can shed some light. Thanks!
