Alright, well, my iMac went a little crazy today, crashed for some odd reason, was able to shut down my XP install fine before having to do a hard shutdown... But when I tried to restart the Windows XP VM, it doesn't show up in my list, only Boot Camp and Vista do. So I started following the help tutorial found here...http://kb.parallels.com/en/4680 And that didn't work... Then I read to uninstall and reinstall using the same .hdd file... But I went as far as renaming the .hds file and moving it into the Parallels -> XP VM. So if I uninstall and then reinstall, should I use the now only 4kb .hdd file, or should I use the windows.hdd file that is the 13 gigs, but is missing the xml file. What should I do? I would like to keep the same apps installed, so whatever I can do to run XP again using the same set up without having to reinstall and configure would be great, thanks! Jordan
Backup VM folder first and try you mentioned kb You can use one of the methods described in Parallels Desktop for Mac user guide from http://www.parallels.com/en/download/file/doc/Parallels_Desktop_for_Mac_User_Guide.pdf on page 243
I completely forgot I had a recent complete back up of my internal, I just dragged it back over and replaced, all is fine now, but that is hand information for the future problems, thanks!
