I have 2 Macbook Pros (10.5.4) on the network both running Win XP under Parallels 5608. In the past I have had no problems sharing files between XP virtual machines. For some reason now I cannot access the shares from the XP VMs (from the other XP VM) However, I have a Dell on the network and can access it just fine. The Xp VMs cannot ping each other but they can ping the Dell and they can access the internet as well as files on the mac just fine. I need to synchronize data between the XP VMs asap so I ned to get this going. Thanks!
The best solution is to switch both VMs to bridged Ethernet, and assign IP from the local network range Also, firewall, antivirus settings may prevent connection
It turns out that both MAC addresses for the VM adapters were the same. I changed one in the VM configuration editor and it works fine now.
