I have a black Macbook with 4GB ram, and I have given my VM 1.5GB ram, and 32MB video. Everytime my system wakes up from sleep or returns from my screensaver (BOINC for Seti@HOME) the VM does not seem to respond to commands. The only way to solve the problem is suspend/shutdown the VM and bring it back up.

does anyone else have this problem? better yet, has anyone got a solution to this?

    thanks

The problem is that BOINC performs calculation and swaps VM memory to disk, you need just to wait some time (enough VM memory to initialize), try to use another screensaver and check is problem is still there

i tweaked BOINC to use next to no resources at all, and it seems to actually revive from sleep now, but it is still a little slow coming back. The VM has 1536MB RAM and 32MB video.

and how to fix this message:

The screen resolution in the guest OS cannot be set...

    many thanks

After screensaver, 1,5 gb of memory should be read from disk into memory.
    as for message.
    Reinstall Parallels Tools.
