I've been trying to run the Microchip PIC development tools under parallels 5608 and can't get their PIC bootloader USB driver to load up correctly. When I plug in the device I get 3 dings and a circle with yellow exclamation point in the device manager. It shows an error of "device can not start". The device shows up as "microchip technology-composite" in OSX, and in the windows device manager under parallels it shows up as "microchip custom usb device".

If I force a driver update from the device manager, the driver seems to load up and start ok, but the software that uses it fails with an error of "USB Read Failed Failed with error 997: Overlapped I/O operation is in progress"

The next time the device is reset I'm back to getting 3 dings and the "can not start" error again.

The driver is available from Microchip at this location http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/MCHPFSUSB_Setup_v1.3.exe

After installation the problem driver can be found here: \MCHPFSUSB\Pc\MCHPUSB Driver\Release with it's sys and inf files.

You want me to downgrade to an older version? I only just managed to get on 5608 after many problems with the upgrade process failing.

Build 5582. has compiled to provide compatibility with most of USB hardware, if it doesn't help, you can easily upgrade it back
