I have a mac mini with Leopard and 2 Gig's of ram, running Parallels 3.0 with the build 5608 and Vista Premium Home. After having Parallels work well for a month, I have issues in Articulate within PowerPoint and decide to reset. When I did reset, Vista came up with a 4bit color small screen. But when I check the drivers they all say they are okay. On the mac side, all programs work fine and beautifully in millions of colors on a 24in monitor just fine. Has anyone else heard of this issue? Can someone help?
Won't I loose everything if I reinstall? Or is the "tools" a specific part to install? Do I have to perform an uninstall of anything?
I obviously did not understand the directions. I thought there would be an option within the installer CD where I would get a menu to click on Actions-Install Tools. NO SUCH OPTION! I have just installed the entire program again because once it started, the install could not stop!!! Right now, I'm not a happy camper. I'm downloading the patch now. I'm assuming this means I'll have to do a new "start up". If you could help me in setting up and hopefully not loose everything I have in Vista already set, I'd greatly appreciate it!!!
Please back up a moment, and let me know if the following is true to do first: 1. Install the 5608 patch 2. open parallels -- I'm assuming i have to put in the key code again 3. Find the existing Parallel's folder with Vista in it and say that's the item I need? 4. After opening windows in safe mode, follow the directions on the link sent above? Does this sound right?
Perform backup of Virtual Machine using one of the suggestions in Parallels Desktop for Mac user guide from http://www.parallels.com/en/download/file/doc/Parallels_Desktop_for_Mac_User_Guide.pdf on page 243, e.g cloning Virtual Machine, or simply copying Virtual machine folder (when Parallels Desktop is in stopped state) Then no need in safe mode
Okay, after much stressing, I finally could see the Vista logo in full color! What a relief. I see there are issues with Articulate program still, that must have been where the issues started. Thank you for the links provided, without them, I don't know that I would have ever gotten it back to full color. The reinstall had no effect on it. I would have never thought of the Tools alone could have fixed it. Thank you very much.
