I've been trying for months to install tools and nothing anyone suggest works. Yeah maybe I'm just a dummy but I'm tired now and about ready to either sell Parallels or just give it away. I have never run into a problem that couldn't be solved but i believe this is going to be the first time. This was the last suggestion. http://kb.parallels.com/en/4720 I looked for this file C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\\setup.ilg file - if the problem is with installing Parallels Tools using the provided directions. I found the suggested file. Trouble is there are 2 setup.ilg files like this with the same name? How in the world is a limited use windows person suppose to know which is which? I got another e-mail form another kind person who suggested the following. Solution 1: * Go to Finder - Documents - Parallels - Your Vm - move Windows Applications folder to the Desktop. Start Parallels Desktop and your Windows OS in it. Try to install Parallels Tools one more time. * If you successfully install Parallels Tools compress Windows Applications folder on your Desktop. Then send the compressed file to Parallels support. Solution 2: * Start Parallels Desktop and Windows OS in it. From the Actions menu choose Install Parallels Tools. In Parallels Tools installation wizard select Custom installation, make sure that the Shared applications option is not selected, and follow the wizard instructions. Restart your Windows OS. That didn't work either. I can't believe i will have to reinstall Parallels, Update Parallels, re-install windows, Update windows, re-install the software i use, Oh what joy................ I cannot believe I am the only one with this issue. But then again I must be. This is not funny. Or maybe it is and i just fail to see the humor in it. Rant over
I suppose I know that ticket, Well my suggestion is to perform Windows repair and then try to install Parallels Tools Also just make sure that VM is not infected
