Windows 2000 server

I just installed win xp but with windows 2000 server I have some difficulties, failed boot during installation from cdrom and iso image.

What can I do?

 

Is Windows 2000 server cd bootable?
Please also check that there is CD-DVD-rom is set to use CD-DVD in Configuration Editor
And Enabled and connect at startup is selected

 

I have to check for answering to first question, if cdrom is not bootable, i should create a virtual floppy boot?

cdrom is setted as connect at start up and enable.

 

Yes, you can create bootable fdd, and use some software, which creates img, or fdd images, like win http://www.winimage.com/download.htm

 

while you are answering me i have done as you told.

I created with start/run X:/bootdisk/makeboot a: the four floppy disk. After with winimage I created the fdd image and with parallel from device menu I changed during the boot the various image floppy.

I have a little problem, in win2k server it's used the ctrl alt canc combination....how do i do?

 

You need to redefine several key combination setting them out from CTRL and ALT
Please set key combination to others (avoiding CTRL+ALT in the same operation)
Parallels Desktop - Preferences - Keyboard

 

I found it in Menù/Action/Send key

Can I use a domain controller in win2kserver now?

I have installed winxp e win2kserver on parallel, i setted my network and two windwos are visible onsame workgroup.

I don't succeed to add winxp pro to domain controller of win2kserver.

How do I have to do?

 

You need to switch both VMs to Bridged Ethernet

 

But the two pc are both visible on the network!!!

Domain Controller should handle many incoming ports, it is pain to set redirection for all this
