Recommendation for using Windows Update

I have installed Windows XP Professional as my Guest OS with Parallels 3.0. As is usually the case, Windows is asking whether I should setup automatic updates for XP. If this were a standalone copy of Windows I would normally do this. However, do you recommend that I do this within a virtual machine or will this cause my problems than it is worth?

If it is not Boot Camp Windows you can install any updates, just make sure you have build 5608 , if you are going to install Service Pack 3

Thanks for your help... I will turn on the update feature in Windows XP as I am using the latest release of Parallels.
