For some reason in full screen or single window mode, I can't see the windows task bar. But I can see it when I am in coherence mode. This is new behavior, though I'm not sure what caused it. Does anyone know a fix? Thanks, Rod
It looks that Windows resolution is higher than Mac OS, and change Mac OS resolution is not selected, on Parallels Desktop -Preferences -Appearance Check this , all increase Mac OS resolution
Thanks, but that option was already checked. I tried un-checking it, saving it and then re-checking it to see if that would work but no luck. The screen resolution on the mac is set to 1680x1050 with millions of collors. The screen resolution for Windows is set to 1344x840 with Highest (32 bit) color quality. But changing the windows screen resolution around doesn't seem to make an impact. Can still see the task bar under coherence but not under single window. Any ideas? Thanks, Rod
I'm not sure what the Shared Profile is, so I doubt I have it enabled. But I'd be happy to check if you point me in the right direction. Here's a screen shot of the toolbar missing from the single window view, and it re-appearing in the coherence mode.
For Shared Profile See on Parallels Desktop for Mac user guide from http://www.parallels.com/en/download/file/doc/Parallels_Desktop_for_Mac_User_Guide.pdf on page 211
I've got it configured to automatically start windows up upon launch, and I can't figure out how to suspend that so I can get to the configuration editor to check this setting.
Ok, if you do not have Shared Profile enabled try following: - Create new user and login, check if taskbar visible, if yes it is user profile coruption -If it is not, right click on screen and select classic theme, check
Well, I'm not sure that I understood you instructions entirely, but this is what I did. In the paralells configuration panel, I enabled shared profile, then I launched the virtual machine. It told me that it was re-routing all the shared folders so the pc and mac would share the same key directories, but when it was all done, I still could not see the task bar. I could see it when the machine was fist booting, but then it goes away (but it leaves it's real estate there). So then I created a new log in account within windows. I launched via that account, and it still was missing. Tried converting to the classic theme, and still no task bar. any ideas?
