I've had Parallels and WinXP Home running fine for a few weeks now, but have now lost my network connection within Windows. I'm on Shared Networking.

I know there was a Windows update recently that broke Zonealarm, and I wondered whether it might have also done something to networking through Parallels? Or am I barking up completely the wrong tree?

Has anyone else lost their network connection within the last few days? If so, did you get it fixed? And how?

    Thanks.

OK, that's wierd. I got it working again in Bridged mode, but I still have no idea what changed other than the update. Any insights would be much appreciated.

Just try to remove Zone Alalrm, and check in Shared Networking mode,
    You indeed identified it correctly

Sorry John, I didn't explain myself correctly. I'm only using Windows Firewall - I just wondered whether whatever happened to Zonealarm (for the users who have it) might have also happened to Parallels' network connections.

    Try following:
    ifconfig -a on Mac side
if you see any IP starting from 169.254.x.x
    try following:
sudo killall -HUP pvsnatd in Terminal on Mac side

I didn't see that IP number, but I tried using killall anyway... and now it works!

    Thanks very much.
