I had an earlier version of Parallels (pretty sure it was 3.0) installed and then updated to 5608. I had to manually download it because the dmg that Parallels itself downloaded was apparently corrupt (at least that's what Leopard told me when I tried to manually mount it). The install went fine and my license is still intact. The problem is that I can't install the Parallels tools. When I select that option in the Action menu I see the Mac OS dialog telling me what is about to happen, I click OK, and then nothing happens. The installer never launches in Windows XP (SP2). I even tried uninstalling the old version of the tools. Which I wish I hadn't done. Still can't install the new version (so now I don't have any). Is there a URL where I can download the tools from within Windows and run the installer manually?
Please check that CD-DVD-rom is listed in Configuration Editor and Enable and Connect at startup is checked
Ok, select use image and point to /Library/Parallels/Tools/vmtools.iso you will be able to access this as D: in Windows run PrlTools.exe
I have the exact same problem but I canot locate vmtools.iso edit: found it and it appears to be installing. thanks
That didn't work (it told me to insert a disk in drive D, but using the Devices menu to load it did. Thanks for the help. (Now if only it would stop switching my desktop in Spaces when Windows is booting...that's a serious irritation.)
We are checking spaces, trying to catch what is causing it. btw, instal 10.5.4 it provides some fixes for Spaces
