I've been reading these forums for about a week now and although I've been very impressed with what I've seen and heard about parallels, I must say I'm not that impressed with the unix forums. It seems that a lot of folks are having quite a bit of trouble with linux distros. Although I would be interested in running ubuntu, as it's very popular now, it appears that running parallels with ubuntu would be an exercise in futility. so my question is this, is there a desktop linux distro that does run well without a lot of tweaking and editing? One that does work with the tools install? I would like to hear impressions from unix users before I purchase the product.

    thanks

    no point in asking twice

many answers are done by volunteers when they have time and the right knowledge

    Using Ubuntu

I downloaded a prepackaged VM of Ubuntu 7.10 from the Parallels website. It works great. I did the update to Ubuntu 8.04 and I'm having a very minor screen resolution issue, but other than that its working nicely.
