I use verizon fios at home. Its always on. I have a linksys router using dhcp. What type of networking do I set up. I have tried both bridged using eth0 and shared. I can't get internet access from my windows VM. how do i set up my networking inside of windows to work with this?
If you are using Verizon Wireless modem, try following. Setup network for VM host only, in System Preferences Network- Share internet connection from Verizon modem to Parallels Host-Guest adapter. Please not some models just shutdown Parallels interfaces. if it is still not work, please perform in Terminal following command ifconfig -a sudo killall -HUP pvsnatd last command can help, of driver from Verizon not one which shutdown interface
i am not using wireless. Let me give more details. I have a static IP address at work and I can connect to the internet from windows VM using a bridged connection. At home I have DHCP. I am not using wireless. I can connect to the internet using DHCP and static IP with my Macintosh. I have two locations mapped in my Mac networking. When I get home I switch to DHCP. I can connect to the internet from a static IP, but not from a DHCP connection. I tried making a shared connection, host only, and bridhge and I do not get a connection from my windows VM. I cannot do ipconfig /renew. Windows does not see an internet connection. When I do an ipconfig /renew I get Windows IP Configuration The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation. I do not see a connection to the internet. do I have to setup my windows network connection differently? I have internet access from my Mac, but not from my windows VM.
