I have been using Parallels Desktop for a week or so now, and I really like the product. I have run into three little snags with the software however, and am wondering how to adjust the behavior of these issues.

    • I use Parallels exclusively in Coherence -- it serves me only as (an admittedly high overhead) compatibility layer for my Windows software. The trouble is that when I use Command+Tab to switch through applications, there's always an extra entry on the list for "Parallels Desktop" in addition to my Windows apps:

I find myself accidentally flipping to the general Parallels icon a bunch when I'm really looking for a specific Windows application -- the Parallels icon selects them all, which seems to defeat the point of Coherence. VMware Fusion does not have an extra icon in Unity mode by default -- and I have found that having to make sure I avoid flipping to that entry on my list every single time inhibits my productivity. How can I prevent Parallels from showing a generic "Parallels Desktop" icon on the Command+Tab program-switching menu in addition to entries from all my Windows programs?

    • I appreciate having the Command keys re-mapped to a Windows key in fullscreen mode, but this behavior drives me crazy in Coherence. I use Quicksilver, and every single time I push Command+Tab to invoke Quicksilver, the Start Menu opens too. This behavior is aggravating:

How can I set Parallels so that the only way to pull up the Start Menu in Coherence is through Applications -> Start Menu in Parallels' menu?

    • Is it possible to replace Windows programs' dock/Command+Tab icons with higher quality images? How is this done?

Thank you so much for the help, and also for putting out a great product. I look forward to hearing back!

Any ideas? Or, am I just pissing in the wind here?
