Hi, We seem to have a totally broken XP disc which we desperately need recovering. Initially, we were getting an error on boot: "NTLDR is Missing" And followed the following article to fix it: http://kb.parallels.com/en/4751 But we couldn't even boot to the disc. We then tried re-installing windows and then mounting the disc. This just said the disc was corrupt. Now we get an error: "A disc read error occured" We really need the data off this drive, so hope someone can help. Thanks! Bob
Sounds like your hard drive is fried. You can try a program like Spin rite from www.grc.com to see if you can get the surface to refresh to be able to recover it. I would also recommend that you try restorer 2000 pro as this is a low level file recovery program that may be able to get to your drive. MV
