Installed Parallels, and tried to run a virtual machine I copied over from my laptop. Spinning beachball entailed when I clicked "Run". I force quit the app, and a few moments, got the PANIC.

    Details for Parallels folks :-

bad idea just to copy VM files

try running your laptop as a firewire hard disk linked to the new machine

open the VM from there in the new installation

then clone to the new machine

(a guess - but I run my VM from external had disks daily and cloning records the path in Parallels)
